It normally invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings) in equity securities, including convertible securities convertible into equity securities. The fund's portfolio may include securities of well-established companies with large market capitalizations as well as small, unseasoned companies. It invests at least 40% of its assets in securities of foreign issuers. The fund may invest in securities of issuers in emerging markets to a significant extent.

The Fund will invest at least 90% of its total assets in common stocks that comprise the Index. Standard & Poor's compiles, maintains and calculates the Index, which is composed of 50 securities traded on the S&P 500 Index that historically have provided high dividend yields and low volatility. The Fund and the Index are rebalanced and reconstituted semi-annually, in January and July.
