The credit quality of the securities purchased by the Portfolio will be that of the U.S. government or its agencies. As a non-fundamental policy, the Portfolio will invest at least 80% of its net assets in government securities that mature within five years from the date of settlement. It is the policy of the Portfolio that the maximum length of maturity of investments will not exceed five years from the date of settlement.
