The fund pursues its investment objective by aiming to provide exposure to several strategies often referred to as "alternative" or "absolute return" strategies. Absolute return strategies seek to produce positive performance in both positive and negative environments for equities, fixed income, and credit markets. Utilizing a diversified portfolio of instruments, it seeks exposure to the following strategies: Volatility, Equity Long/Short, Relative Value and Global Macro. The fund may invest up to 25% of its total assets in a subsidiary.

The Fund will invest at least 90% of its total assets in common stocks that comprise the Index. Standard & Poor's compiles, maintains and calculates the Index, which is composed of 50 securities traded on the S&P 500 Index that historically have provided high dividend yields and low volatility. The Fund and the Index are rebalanced and reconstituted semi-annually, in January and July.
