The fund pursues its investment objective utilizing a market neutral strategy, the goal of which is to generate absolute returns that are due primarily to stock selection, rather than the returns and direction of the stock market. It implements its market neutral strategy by establishing long and short positions in a diversified portfolio of equity securities. Substantially all of the equity securities in which the fund takes long and short positions will be included in the Russell 1000 Index at the time of purchase.

The Fund will invest at least 90% of its total assets in common stocks that comprise the Index. Standard & Poor's compiles, maintains and calculates the Index, which is composed of 50 securities traded on the S&P 500 Index that historically have provided high dividend yields and low volatility. The Fund and the Index are rebalanced and reconstituted semi-annually, in January and July.
