Boston Therapeutics, Inc. develops, manufactures, and commercializes therapeutic drugs to address unmet medical needs in diabetes and inflammatory diseases. The company develops BTI-320, a non-systemic carbohydrate-based compound tablet that is in Phase II clinical trial for reduction of post-meal blood glucose levels in pre-diabetes patients and type 2 diabetes patients; and IPOXYN, an injectable drug to prevent necrosis, as well as to treat hypoxic conditions, such as diabetic foot ulcers and other vascular/neurological complications. It is also developing BTI-410, a peptide injectable compound, which is in Phase II clinical trial to stimulate beta cell maturation for development as a new insulin producing cell agent for the pancreas in type 2 diabetes patients and type 1 patients who are on immunosuppression therapy after having undergone kidney transplant surgery; SUGARDOWN, a non-systemic polysaccharide based dietary supplement to support healthy blood glucose levels; and OXYFEX, a veterinary medicine application used as an oxygen delivery agent similar to a RBC replacement for ischemia and trauma, as well as for blood loss during surgery. In addition, the company provides automatic retinal image analysis (ARIA), a diagnostic device for screening of cardiovascular risk, such as stroke.
