The fund primarily targets approximately 75 to 250 companies, within the mid- to large-cap spectrum, based on a proprietary quantitative model mixed with qualitative evaluation. It may also hold other open-end and closed-end funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The fund specifically excludes North American companies, consistent with its initial investment universe. It also aims to outperform its benchmark index, a characteristic of actively managed funds. The portfolio is rebalanced monthly.

The Fund will invest at least 90% of its total assets in common stocks that comprise the Index. Standard & Poor's compiles, maintains and calculates the Index, which is composed of 50 securities traded on the S&P 500 Index that historically have provided high dividend yields and low volatility. The Fund and the Index are rebalanced and reconstituted semi-annually, in January and July.
