The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund will, under normal market conditions, invest at least 40% of its assets, calculated at the time of purchase, in equity securities of (i) issuers either organized or having headquarters in countries outside the United States, or (ii) issuers having a majority of their assets or revenues attributable to countries outside the United States. It may also invest in investment grade corporate or government debt obligations, and in foreign exchange futures contracts or currency forward contracts.

The Fund will invest at least 90% of its total assets in common stocks that comprise the Index. Standard & Poor's compiles, maintains and calculates the Index, which is composed of 50 securities traded on the S&P 500 Index that historically have provided high dividend yields and low volatility. The Fund and the Index are rebalanced and reconstituted semi-annually, in January and July.
