The firm does not invest in start-ups, turnaround situations, oil or gas exploration, real estate development, and direct lending businesses. The firm prefers to invest in companies based in the Mid-Atlantic region and also invests in small businesses based in Richmond, Hampton Roads, Virginia, Washington D.C., North Carolina, and Maryland. The firm prefers to provide, with a more than five year term with flexible amortization, between $500,000 and $3 million as subordinate loans and between $1 million and $3 million as senior debt financing. It prefers to invest in companies that have annual revenues greater than $5 million.
