Globally, AGC Inc. operates as a diversified manufacturer and supplier, specializing in materials such as glass, electronic components, chemicals, and ceramics. Its extensive range of glass products encompasses various architectural applications, featuring solutions like laminated, insulating, wired, solar control, toughened, decorative, and sound-insulating glass, along with standard float and patterned industrial glasses. AGC also provides comprehensive structural glazing systems. For the automotive sector, AGC supplies laminated, tempered, and privacy glass, in addition to advanced components like integrated glass antennas, patterned glazing, and pre-assembled module windows. The company's electronics division produces critical components, including glass substrates tailored for thin-film-transistor LCDs and OLEDs. This portfolio further extends to specialized items such as synthetic fused silica glass, synthetic quartz crystal, silicon carbide, CMP slurry, through-glass vias, high refractive index glass, DOE diffusers, glass-ceramic substrates, optical planar devices, IR cut filters, aspherical glass and molded lenses, micro lens arrays, and fly-eye and condenser lenses. Moreover, AGC supplies polycarbonate and various optical sheets, thin sheets, and films, along with glass frits, pastes, and semiconductor packaging substrates, among other electronic materials. Furthermore, AGC's offerings include protective cover glass for mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, alongside glass substrates essential for photovoltaic devices and touch panels. They also provide various specialty glass products, such as extra-clear float glass, transparent conductive oxide (TCO) glass for amorphous silicon (a-Si) solar modules, and ultra-thin glass engineered for advanced electronic applications. Their chemical segment delivers a range of products, encompassing chlor-alkali, polyurethanes, fluorochemicals, and various other specialty chemical formulations. Within ceramics, AGC supplies high thermal insulation ceramic walls for furnace applications, in addition to ceramic beads, sputtering targets, abrasion-resistant ceramics, alumina cement, sophisticated engineering fine ceramics, and ceramic molding agents for 3D printing. Beyond its core manufacturing, AGC is also involved in several other ventures, including digital signage utilizing glass, copper-clad laminates, and plastic optical fiber. The company further participates in the gas and solvents sector and the life sciences industry. Established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1907, the company initially operated under the name Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. before rebranding to AGC Inc. in July 2018.
