The fund seeks to invest in securities of companies operating in the essential asset sectors, which includes education, housing, healthcare, social and human services, power, water, energy, infrastructure, basic materials, industrial, transportation and telecommunications sectors. The fund primarily seeks to invest in stocks of companies across all market capitalizations, as well as in corporate and government issues debt securities. Its corporate debt investment include high yield securities of any maturity. The fund also invests in private equities. It employs both fundamental and quantitative analysis with a focus on such proprietary financial, risk and valuation models to create its portfolio. The fund was formerly known as Tortoise Essential Assets Income 2024 Term Fund, Inc. Tortoise Essential Assets Income Term Fund was formed in 2017 and is domiciled in the United States.
