The company targets commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid markets. Its operations are organized into three primary divisions: Managed Care, Life Insurance, and Property and Casualty Insurance. Within Managed Care, it provides diverse health plans such as HMOs, PPOs, BlueCard programs, Medicare Supplement and Advantage plans, and Medicaid offerings, alongside claims processing and administrative services for employers, individuals, and public entities. The Life Insurance segment offers various life, accident, disability, and health coverage, as well as annuity products, primarily to individual clients. The Property and Casualty division specializes in products like commercial multi-peril, personal package, commercial auto, hospital malpractice, commercial liability, and commercial property, mainly serving small to mid-sized businesses. Triple-S distributes its products through a comprehensive network that includes internal sales personnel, direct marketing, independent brokers, telemarketing, and both traditional and digital media. The corporation holds the exclusive licensing rights for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield names and trademarks across Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, Costa Rica, the British Virgin Islands, and Anguilla. Founded in 1959, its corporate headquarters are located in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
