The company broadcasts a diverse range of scheduled content, including news, public affairs programming, sports, and general entertainment. It is responsible for developing, acquiring, and scheduling an extensive lineup for the CBS Television Network, which features popular primetime comedies and dramas, reality series, special events, children's programming, daytime serials, game shows, and late-night offerings. Additionally, Paramount Global produces or distributes talk shows, court shows, game shows, and newsmagazines, and owns and operates 29 local broadcast television stations. The firm also manages the CBS Sports Network, a 24-hour cable channel dedicated to sports and related content, alongside offering various streaming and cable subscription services. Its digital footprint includes Paramount+, a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) and live streaming platform. Paramount Global creates and obtains programming for distribution across a multitude of platforms, encompassing paid cable networks, subscription streaming services, and both premium and basic cable channels. Furthermore, the company develops, produces, finances, acquires, and distributes feature films. Originally incorporated in 1986, the enterprise was formerly known as ViacomCBS Inc. before officially changing its name to Paramount Global in February 2022.
