Travis Perkins plc, headquartered in Northampton, United Kingdom, serves as a prominent distributor of construction and home improvement supplies throughout the UK market. The company operates primarily through two distinct divisions: Merchanting and Toolstation. The Merchanting segment comprehensively caters to professionals within the construction industry, specialist contractors, and various trade professionals. It provides an extensive inventory of interior building components, including drywalls, ceilings, external envelopes, fire protection solutions, flooring, partitioning, and all associated tools and accessories. This division also supplies heavy building materials, civil engineering and drainage products, and a full suite of pipeline and heating solutions. Furthermore, the Merchanting segment extends its offerings to general trade professionals and self-builders, supplying a broad spectrum of building materials, plumbing and heating products, landscaping items, timber and sheet goods, painting and decorating essentials, dry lining, insulation, doors, joinery, and both hand and power tools. The Toolstation segment is dedicated to supplying products to tradespeople, home renovators, and DIY enthusiasts. This service is delivered through approximately 500 physical branches, complemented by robust online sales platforms, call centers, and a mobile-optimized website. Beyond general supplies, Toolstation also specializes in providing kitchens and joinery products, specifically targeting specialist joiners, kitchen fitters, local authorities, and both local and national house builders. Tracing its origins back to its founding in 1797, the company was initially known as Sandell Perkins Public Limited Company, before officially changing its name to Travis Perkins plc in October 1988.
